About Me

I’m Nancy and no, I didn’t always look like I do in that picture.

Weight is a sensitive issue for most people, and for good reason. It’s not an exclusively female domain, nor is it a matter of superficial beauty. It’s a personal journey, as emotional as it is physical. It involves sweat and tears (sometimes even blood, should you choose to go under the knife)! You’re probably thinking the old adage is true: no pain, no gain. But I’m here to tell you that your journey towards self-love and physical improvement can be as exciting and enjoyable as doing the tango in the gorgeous plains of South America!

My foray into health and fitness began as a brace-faced, 16-year-old who was too afraid to wear a two-piece at the beach because I felt my body paled in comparison to my much more toned friends. We live in an age of false ideals, bombarded with standards of beauty that are not only impossible to reach but demand ugly ways of doing so. I was fortunate enough to ultimately surround myself with positive role models, genuinely beautiful people who taught me to treat my body with respect, rather than a vehicle to please a painfully critical society.
