Mosquitoes are common in most places, but in the workplace, they can be a serious distraction. Not only do they buzz in your ear and leave itchy bites, but they are also able to carry fatal diseases and transfer them to humans. The dengue virus and malaria are two of the most common diseases transmitted from mosquitoes to humans.
If you want to make your workplace feel safe for employees, you need to get rid of the mosquitoes. Here are some ways you can do that.
Keep Mosquito Repellent Plants in the Office
There are a few plants that have natural qualities that repel mosquitoes. These include catnip, tulsi and feverfew. Though it may be difficult to find indoor versions of these plants, placing them at entrances or on windowsills also prevents mosquitoes from entering.
If you live in a situation where placing plants in openings is not possible, you can always take tulsi oil and put it into a diffuser. This will have the same effect as if the plant were there and will deter mosquitoes from entering your office space.
Get an Ultrasonic Bug Repellent
Ultrasonic bug repellants are a great option if you or anyone in your office is allergic to bug sprays or finds their smell unbearable. Ultrasonic bug repellants release a noise of an extremely high frequency. This is too high to be heard by humans, so it doesn’t bother us at all. Mosquitoes and other bugs can hear it and try to stay as far away from it as possible, leaving your office space bug-free without any odd smells or suffocating sprays.
Hire an Extermination Service
Usually, a few mosquitoes here and there can be taken care of with any of the techniques above. But, if the mosquito problem in your office has gone out of hand, the best option is to hire an extermination service. This will eliminate the problem from its root and kill all the mosquitoes without you having to put in any effort.
